Secrets, jealousy, and monsters — how else would a bard and paladin fall in love?
Emil fell for Konrad at first sight. Across a crowded tavern, he waltzed up to the paladin, offering his services as he sang of heartbreak and romance, but what use does a paladin have for a bard? Settling for friendship, Emil takes comfort wherever offered. He doesn't have any other choice.
One day, he's sure he'll get over himself. His heart will stop skipping a beat every time Konrad displays his dry wit — every time the heroic brooding man draws his sword and saves the day.
It isn't like Konrad has ever shown an interest in men. The paladin is out of Emil's league, so he'll hold his tongue however painful it gets if only he can stay by his friend's side.
But his love isn't the only secret he's keeping.
A druid and paladin sworn to the way of the Volk, Konrad has watched everyone he has cared for die. Resigned to temporary companionship, he kept his heart at a distance. Even if he wanted something with Emil, the bard would one day die. That would destroy him, so Konrad held his tongue.
Except Emil isn't mortal. Though he's put his magic aside for a life of song, he's still a sorcerer, and for all that the title comes with a bad reputation, there is a power to it. Better still — it means he'll live as long as Konrad.
Jealousy and a monster's interference set them on the road to romance or heartbreak. Can these two lonely souls find their way to love?
The Saucy Bard's Potent Paladin is a gay fantasy romance with mpreg, high heat and a HEA.
